NEW HOME
A considered knock-down rebuild designed around modern family living.
This knock-down rebuild replaced a modest three-bedroom home with a new four-bedroom residence designed to provide more space, functionality and flexibility for modern family life.
The existing house, driveway, garage slab and patio were completely removed to make way for a new home designed specifically around the clients' brief. Design and drafting was completed by Chris Pasfield of Chris Pasfield & Associates, Building Design & Drafting, with the new layout carefully considered to maximise natural light, living space and connection to the outdoors.
THE TRANSFORMATION
At the heart of the home is a generous open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, with a large walk-in pantry and direct connection to the covered outdoor deck. Velux skylights bring additional natural light into the main living space, while high ceilings and expansive areas throughout the home create a strong sense of openness.
The accommodation includes a spacious master suite with walk-in robe and ensuite, three additional bedrooms, a main bathroom, laundry and powder room. A double lock-up garage and new concrete driveway complete the practical requirements of the home.
Throughout the interior, hybrid flooring and carefully selected finishes were used alongside tiled wet areas and frameless glass shower screens to create a contemporary and durable home.
A key consideration for the project was adaptability. At the clients' request, the home was designed in accordance with AS 4299-1995 Adaptable Housing, allowing it to be modified for wheelchair accessibility in the future if required.
